You will leave Marrakech and head to the Toubkal National Park on a day trip into the High Atlas.
You will marvel at the spectacular scenery of the green valleys, the small Berber villages with their terraced cultivation, and their panoramic views of the rugged peaks.
You will visit the mountain village of Imlil where you can ride a mule to the village of Aremd.
The mountain village of Imlil with its terraced cultivation and mud houses is located at 1,740 m altitude. It is the starting point for the ascent of Mount Toubkal, whose summit is the highest point in the High Atlas as well as in Morocco and North Africa at 4,167 m.
It can be reached from Marrakech via the Asni Gorge, the green valleys surrounded by small Berber villages on the mountainside.
It was near the village of Aremd, with its Tibetan monastery look and Himalayan views, that part of the films “Kundun” and “Seven Years in Tibet” were shot.
