Discover the Marrakech palm grove, which brings together a multitude of picturesque landscapes. In addition to the many palm trees, you will pass from Berber villages to desert areas with the Atlas plateau as a background.
For a half-day of memorable adventure, you have the choice between several activities such as the camel ride, and for athletes: the quad biking or the two-seater buggy.
You can have lunch by a swimming pool or attend the folk equestrian show dinner.
Marrakech’s palmeraie has more than 100,000 palm trees that have been planted since the 11th century at the time of the Almoravid dynasty on a 15,000 hectare plot of land in the form of oases irrigated by an ancestral underground khettara network of pipes. Located north of Marrakech, this historic site is part of Morocco’s natural heritage.
The Marrakech palm grove is still a source of wealth. Dates, palm oil, palm wine, palm hearts and wood are produced there.
Although located more than 10 kilometres from the centre of Marrakech, the palm grove is now home to many luxurious hotels, palaces, residential areas, villas, riads, holiday villages, golf courses and swimming pools, which use part of the palm trees’ irrigation source.
To fully appreciate the Marrakech’s palmeraie, it is pleasant to visit it by riding in a horse-drawn carriage, on a camel, or for the more sporty, on a quad.
